Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are going beyond reality in every aspect with the Games like Pokémon Go or the sudden movement of a static promotional poster of movies and products through the lenses of a smartphone camera.

The scope for skill development and the future job is broad, be it healthcare, manufacturing, or education, the range for the technologies is vast. However, VR and AR are separate entities; they often end up in the same discussion and are called extended reality.

Five careers that are in trend and will have a bright future under the umbrella of VR and AR.

Design Architect

This profession requires you to work with the client to design the interior, and exterior of the devices, used for AR and VR. One design the helmet or the goggles used to experience the extended reality if he/she pursues a career in design architecture. 

Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in arts followed by a course in architectural school is required. One can go for Masters in it as it gives a boost to the resume.

Software Designer

Software designers design the software with the help of a developer and 3D artists. It has profitable career growth. 

Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science is required. Here one can learn to design and program software as a part of a curriculum. Additional knowledge of web platforms will take a long way.

System Validation Engineers

A system validation engineer is required to solve any issues that will arise, including the technical issues, and get back to developers to make sure the application got modified accordingly. 

Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and some years of experience. The fields one can opt-in B.tech for a greater scope are electrical, mechanical, or computer science. The relevant coursework should include Mathematics, Statistics, and Material Science as well.

Software Developer

Software developers are widely required—an outstanding software developer with a hint of creativity gets a lucrative salary worldwide. As necessary as the job sounds, it has a bright future with all the technologies rushing in. 

Qualification – A bachelor’s degree in engineering. One may take up a certification course in whichever technology he wants after completion of B.tech. 

Implementation is critical in this career, so one may take up a small project to start 3D Artist.

The 3D artist is an emerging career in the future job aspect. While skilling is needed to cope up with the trend, creativity is equally important. 

Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Computer Graphics is required to pursue a career as a 3D artist. If one does not want to go for a full-time course, one can enroll in a certification program too. In this field, one can put the artistic skills and talent for arts to use with a strong understanding of color, texture, and light and how they work together. The creativity and artistic skills will help to pursue a career as a 3D artist. There is a massive scope of jobs in this field in India as well as abroad. 

3D animation, game development, and new media development are the branches of fields under 3D artist.
