TOP MEDICAL ENTRANCE EXAMS IN INDIA 2020
NEET UG
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG is a national level medical entrance exam. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency.
NEET provides the qualified candidates admissions in various government as well as private medical colleges in the undergraduate courses. NEET is the gateway for MBBS and BDS courses.
Separate Medical Entrance Exams 2022 will be conducted for admissions in undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses.
The important thing that medical aspirants or students should know is that most of the state and university level MBBS/BDS entrance tests have been replaced by NEET.

This is the single exam to provide seats for more 70,000 medical seats across the country.
NEET entrance exam is very strict in its examination procedures. The examination is held across the country in Offline mode. The NEET examination is conducted once in a year and the exam paper will consist of MCQs.
AIIMS
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi conducts AIIMS Entrance Exam. The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are a group of autonomous public medical colleges.
By clearing this examination, the applicants or students become eligible for getting admission in the MBBS courses offered by the AIIMS Institute.
There are 13 AIIMS colleges in India that grant admission to MBBS courses. AIIMS is an important examination conducted across the country.
More than 3 lakh students register themselves for this entrance examination. Students or applicants compete for 12000 seats available for MBBS.
This entrance examination is considered to be one of the toughest examinations and is very competitive. This exam is conducted in online mode and questions in the exam are MCQ type.
JIPMER
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research conducts JIPMER MBBS Examination. JIPMER has been declared as an “Institution of National Importance”. More than 1.84 lakh students registered for the examination this year.
JIPMER has 2 campuses – JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal and the total seats offered for admission are 200. This entrance examination is conducted once a year. The entrance examination is conducted online.
AFMC
The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) provides the meritorious candidates admissions into its MBBS degree course. This institute is acknowledged as the Centre of Excellence for education and research.
Students or candidates can only take admission into AFMC on the basis of their NEET UG examination.
After the requirements are fulfilled, students are enrolled for the admission. The NEET UG qualified candidates will have to register themselves on the MCC website in order to be considered for AFMC MBBS admissions.
The total number of seats available for admission is 150. On successful completion of MBBS Course, the medical cadets will join either of the 3 forces i.e., Army, Navy or Air Force as Commissioned Officers.
Once, NEET scores and other criteria will be called for Screening at AFMC, Pune where they will be given tests – ToELR, PAT, Interview and Medical examination.
CMC Vellore MBBS / BDS
The students who have qualified NEET can apply for admissions into MBBS/ BDS courses offered by the Christian Medical College, Vellore. The students who are interested and eligible candidates can submit their application form only in online mode.
AIPVT
All India Pre Veterinary Test (AIPVT) is conducted by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) to provide admissions into B.V.SC. And A.H programs at UG and PG level. This examination is conducted in Offline mode, with MCQ type questions.
Students should have to or compulsorily attend NEET Examination for seeking admission under 15% All India Quota.
The VCI will prepare the All India Merit list along with the State-wise merit list for counseling for students who wish to take admission.
AMU
Aligarh Muslim University is a public university which provides applicants an opportunity to take admission in various medical courses available.
There are more than 300 different medical courses at UG, PG and Doctoral level. The MBBS and BDS courses are also available at AMU.
A combined registration form is released for both MBBS and BDS degree programmers.
Applicant’s NEET scores are considered for MBBS/BDS admission at AMU. A medical fitness examination or test is also conducted by the University.
GPAT
The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is managed by the All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE). It is a national level entrance exam taken for entry into M. Pharm programmers.
All AICTE approved Institutions/Universities consider the GPAT score of the candidates for granting enrolment.
NEET PG
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG is a national level medical entrance exam. This examination is conducted for the candidates who wish to take admission in different government and private medical colleges.
Admissions are provided into MS, PG Diploma and MD courses to the qualified candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria as well.
BHU NURSING EXAMINATION
Banaras Hindu University provides admissions for B.Sc. Nursing/Pharm (Ay) course. Banaras Hindu University Nursing exam is a National level entrance exam conducted by BHU.
This entrance examination is conducted in Pen & Paper mode (Offline mode). BHU provides only 60 seats for nursing courses.
