Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay published paper-wise detailed schedule for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2021.
GATE is a national examination on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in engineering, technology, architecture and postgraduate level subjects in arts, commerce and science.
Qualifying in GATE is mandatory for seeking admission and financial assistance to postgraduate programmes (master’s and doctoral) with the education ministry and other government scholarships or assistantships, subject to the admission criteria of the admitting institute. The GATE score is also used by some Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for recruitment. The score remains valid for three years from the date of announcement of results.
As per IIT Mumbai, prepares the schedule after receiving confirmation from the service provider with the number of available node counts per session in the entire country versus the number of successfully registered candidates at the end of scrutiny of applications for GATE 2021.
Schedule Six days — 12 sessions each on February 5-7 and 12-14.
Humanities and social science and environmental engineering are the two new subjects included in GATE 2021. Candidates from arts and commerce streams can also appear for the exam. Candidates will be allowed to appear for a maximum of two papers from a single application for a given combination of papers this year.

The GATE 2021 committee, comprising members from the organizing institute IIT Bombay and seven zonal institutes, IISc Bangalore and IITs at Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee, has finalized the paper-wise, shift-wise detailed schedule.
