Get Informed, Stay in the Lead!

The world is changing at an extremely rapid rate! New technologies, trends, and skills are being discovered daily. If we do not keep up, we will be left behind. If you are a student who is preparing for your dream job or a professional who wants to grow, then staying updated has become a prerequisite and it is no longer an optional luxury that we have.

The Reality of Today’s Job Market

Just think about this: A statement stipulates that by 2025, approximately 50% of professionals will have to learn new skills to keep up with their jobs. This implies that half the employees will no longer be able to work unless they engage in learning new things. At present companies not only request degrees, they are looking for people who can govern themselves in the right way, develop and apply innovative methods.

Therefore, the question asked will be—Are you ready?

Learning That Fits Into Your Life

The good news is that you can learn without feeling intimidated. Those days are long gone when you had to endure endless hours of dull lectures. Nowadays, social media can give you the learning opportunities that you can take advantages such as YouTube, LinkedIn Learning, Coursera as well as the Udemy, they can offer mobile and easily-accessible teachings.

Imagine being able to learn a science and engineering course, a marketing one, or leadership skills in 5-10 minutes each day—while you have breakfast or are in the bus. The power of microlearning is the case—little, focused pieces of learning that make your knowledge more adaptable and more practical to use.

Digital Learning: Your Secret Weapon

And the best of it all is that you don’t need to sacrifice your job in order to learn something new. Digital learning has made it so much easier to learn in any place and at any time. Kind of like AI, digital marketing, coding, finance, along with soft skills, the whole bunch of them can be found on the internet.

Moreover, companies also more and more aware of this tendency in the direction of education. They have now started coming up with distance training, e.g. courses, and using the internet such as webinars to attract employee attention. Why not even make it fun?

Make Learning Fun!

Not to bore you with it, but is there such a thing as gamifying education or how about this—should learning not be fun? Apart from the conventional classroom method, educators have recently got into the groove of quizzing, challenge-based activities, and incentivized systems to urge students to study interactively. Pair language learning with Point collection and reach new levels- Duolingo does that. The same is true of the business environment; why not employ the same methods for people to gain new skills in the workplace?

Your Career, Your Responsibility

By the end of the day, nobody except you is accountable for your development. The openings are there-but you have to grasp the opportunities.

So, here’s a challenge for you:

Take the ten minutes out for this type of thing per day from your schedule.

Choose a skill that will help you reach your career objectives or that is relevant to the industry you are working in.

Browse the resources available for free and the ones where you have to pay (YouTube, online courses, podcasts, books).

Put your new knowledge to real-life use—doing something over and over is the only way to get it right.

Hence; it is the mistake of those who are stuck in the present to believe that the future will always be the same. The way to become a better professional and get out of the rut of your career is to be inquisitive, and keep up to date!
