The cluster victory also reflects the growing strength of SVIS’s school-level sports programme, supported by structured training, dedicated coaching and sporting infrastructure that enables students to compete at increasingly higher levels.

The CBSE National Basketball Championship, scheduled to be held from September 29 to October 6, 2026, in Bathinda, Punjab, will bring together qualifying teams from CBSE clusters across India. The national-level tournament will give the young athletes an opportunity to compete against leading school teams from across the country and gain valuable experience on a larger competitive platform.

Commenting on the achievement, Vinay Maheshwari, ED and Trustee, Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust, said, “It is an immensely proud moment to see our U-14 team compete with such confidence and emerge as Cluster Champions against some of the strongest teams from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The players have demonstrated remarkable discipline, composure and team spirit, particularly at this early stage of their sporting journey. Beyond the title, we are delighted to see them gaining the competitive exposure and experience that will help them grow as athletes in the years ahead. I wish the entire team the very best as they carry this momentum into the national championship.”
The basketball team’s achievement further strengthens SVIS’s sporting performance this season, following the success of its U-17 Boys, U-19 Boys and U-19 Girls volleyball teams, which also emerged champions in their respective categories at the CBSE Cluster Championships.
