Digital SAT in India: What Students Should Know in 2025

The SAT has transitioned to a fully digital format, and students in India looking to go abroad for study need to be aware of how the new Digital SAT will work in 2025. Each section has two adaptive modules, so the whole test lasts 2 hours and 14 minutes, a dramatic decrease from the old 3-hour test. The Math section also allows the use of a calculator at all times—there is a Desmos calculator provided on-screen as well. The convenience of having a calculator will help students solve complex step-by-step problems much more easily.

The scoring is still on the familiar 1600 scale, and still 800 points for Reading & Writing and 800 points for Math. The best part of the Digital SAT is that students receive their test scores in a few days, which is very valuable for students applying to colleges with rolling admissions processes or against a tight deadline. Faster test scores also lead to an easier decision of whether you want to retake the test.
